MMP14 inhibitor
NSC 405020 is a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor that targets the hemopexin domain (PEX) of membrane type-1 matrix metalloproteinase (MT1-MMP, also known as MMP 14). The hemopexin domain is distinct from and additional to the catalytic domain and inhibition with NSC 405020 affects PEX and the ability of MT1-MMP to function properly to degrade COL-I to support tumour cell invasion. Intratumoral injections of NSC 405020 significantly repress tumour growth.
