Activity:
Highly selective δ receptor agonist
[D-Ala2]-Deltorphin II, or deltorphin 2, is a highly selective δ opioid receptor agonist. [D-Ala2]-deltorphin II is antinociceptive in vivo and and approximately equipotent with morphine in producing antinociception in models of pain. The antinociceptive effects of [D-Ala2]-deltorphin II are reversed by δ opioid receptor antagonists, unlike those of morphine.
