Catestatin (human)
Cat. No. NA-020
Structure:
Other Names:
Activity:
Catestatin (human) is a neuroendocrine peptide that is derived from proteolytic cleavage of the precursor chromogranin A, corresponding to fragments 352-372 of human chromogranin A. Catestatin (human) was first identified as a potent inhibitor of nicotine induced catecholamine release and as it is secreted together with catecholamines, it can function as an autocrine negative feedback-loop. Catestatin (human) also plays a role in the regulation of hypertension and cardiac function, as well as in promoting angiogenesis, decreasing obesity and regulating innate immunity.
