Fluorogenic substrate for caspase-3
Ac-DEVD-AMC is a fluorogenic substrate for caspase-3 with a Km value of 9.7 ± 1.0 μM. The sequence of Ac-DEVD-AMC is based on the PARP cleavage site Asp216 for caspase-3 and it is also a substrate for caspases -1, -4, -7 and -8. Ac-DEVD-AMC can be used to monitor intracellular caspase activity with cleaved AMC moieties, reflecting caspase activity, being detected by fluorescence.
